My Story: OUTcast to OUTstandingFor years, I dreamed of inspiring people worldwide with my coaching. I wanted to do well by doing good; to make a living from making a difference. The problem was, I was really uncomfortable about marketing myself. I was afraid I'd come off as pushy or manipulative like a used car salesman.
I created a great website, but it didn't get any traffic, so I kept having to swallow my passion and creativity go back and work as a professor and trainer, often to get the door slammed in my face once they found out I dated women. Even though I knew that discrimination was wrong, I still felt like an outcast. I felt like an an "ugly duckling". I dreamed of helping a million "outcasts" rise to be outstanding; to unite "swans" worldwide to fly high and free, so all the world can see that there are no ugly ducklings. My dream was to inspire pride & save lives of bullied gay youth by attracting over a million people to a gay-friendly facebook group. So I took every course I could on ethical marketing & social media, did a Master's degree in Psychology, and launched a series of groups on facebook. My first group got five members. But I kept at it. My eighteenth group reached over two million people in just over two weeks, without a cent of advertising! Love poured in from around the world. Over 60,000 signed a petition for same-sex marriage equality, and over 200,000 people visited my web site, http://www.outstandinglives.org . We even saved young lives. Now, my dream is to help raise a billion dollars for gay-friendly & eco-friendly visions like yours. Dare to dream...
